The kind of electrician who'll lower your bill if the job comes in under the quote — without you having to ask.
"I appreciate that they adjusted the amount due knowing it came in under what they originally quoted me. Would have been easy for any other company to just take the money, but not David's team. They did it right!"
Not sure what you need? Call or text — we'll talk it through before any work is scheduled.
A dead outlet or a switch that sparks isn't always a big deal — but it's worth checking. David looks at the circuit and the wiring behind the box before recommending anything. Sometimes it's a $20 fix. We'll tell you which one it is before we touch anything. We install GFCI outlets near water sources (kitchen, bath, basement) as code requires, add circuits for high-draw appliances, and wire dimmer switches that actually work with your fixtures.
Most ceilings can handle recessed lighting — David checks the structure, existing wiring runs, and panel capacity before any cuts are made. We install recessed lighting, pendant fixtures, under-cabinet lighting, and can run new circuits where none exist. If you're not sure what you want, we're happy to walk through the options on the first visit with no pressure to commit to anything.
A standard ceiling box won't hold the weight and torque of a spinning fan — we check this first and replace it with a fan-rated brace box before anything goes up. We run new wiring if there's no existing switched circuit and can add separate controls for light and fan speed. We install and repair ceiling fans throughout Northeast Ohio — usually same-week availability.
The fan is rarely the only problem. David checks whether the existing exhaust is actually venting to outside air — not into the attic, which is a code violation we see regularly — and whether the CFM rating matches your bathroom size. We install and repair exhaust fans, and we'll tell you if the fix is a $150 fan swap or if something larger is going on with the ventilation path before any work begins.
David has told homeowners they don't need a panel replacement after other contractors quoted $4,000–$8,000 for one. If your panel has space, the wiring is sound, and your breakers are holding correctly, you may not need anything. We'll check it honestly and tell you what we find — including if it's fine as-is. When an upgrade is genuinely needed, we do it right: proper sizing, code-compliant installation, and a system that'll last 30+ years. We also install sub-panels and quick disconnects.
Homes from the 60s and 70s often have aluminum wiring, knob-and-tube remnants, or two-prong outlets — all of which can usually be addressed without tearing every wall open. David scopes what's actually there before any work begins. If a section of wiring is genuinely unsafe, we say so. If it's functional and up to code, we tell you that too. We handle room additions, kitchen remodels, and full-home electrical updates throughout Summit and Cuyahoga counties.
A dryer that keeps tripping the breaker suggests a circuit problem, a worn outlet, or a dryer pulling more current than the circuit can handle — we diagnose the cause before recommending a fix. Don't let someone swap a breaker without finding out why it's tripping. We also install 240V outlets for new dryer setups and run dedicated circuits for washing machines sharing a circuit with other appliances.
A whole-house surge protector costs around $300–500 installed and protects every outlet, appliance, and connected device in your home — including voltage spikes that originate inside the house when large appliances cycle on and off. It doesn't replace outlet-level surge strips for sensitive electronics, but it's the right foundation. We install Type 1 and Type 2 surge protection at the panel, and can combine it with a service upgrade if you're having one done anyway.
5 stars all the way. Local, fast response, reasonably priced and extremely knowledgeable. Groppi Electric was able to diagnose an electrical issue I was having in what seemed like no time at all. We were going crazy without light in our bathroom. After digging in to the problem our tech made short work of it and restored sanity to the household. My wife and daughter are no longer complaining about the light and that in itself is priceless. I am also happy that this is a local business. I will recommend this company to anyone who will listen. Thank you Groppi Electric!!
Describe what's going on. We'll tell you what it actually needs — and what it doesn't.
