David started Groppi Electric with one idea: tell people what their home actually needs — not what makes the most money. Eleven years later, that's still the whole plan.
David Groppi grew up in Northeast Ohio and came into electrical work the old-fashioned way — starting at the bottom and figuring things out as he went. He spent years working for larger contractors across the region, picking up code knowledge, field experience, and one recurring frustration: homeowners were regularly being told they needed work they didn't need.
He started Groppi Electric in 2013 with a simple premise:
Assess honestly. Price fairly. Tell people the truth.
That's not a marketing slogan — it's the reason the first customers came back and started sending their neighbors.
Eleven years in, the business runs the same way. David handles the field work. His wife Holly runs the office, schedules the jobs, and answers the phone — herself, directly, every time. They're not a franchise. They don't have a call center. When something goes sideways on a job, David's the one you talk to.
The reviews tell the story better than we can. People who've spent years getting upsold by bigger companies call Groppi Electric and leave genuinely surprised by what honest electrical service looks like.
"I appreciate that they adjusted the amount due knowing it came in under what they originally quoted me. Would have been easy for any other company to just take the money, but not David's team. They did it right!"
David and the Groppi Electric crew — Northfield, Ohio.
David handles the assessments, the estimates, and the work itself. He's been in electrical for over a decade and has done everything from 1950s knob-and-tube to modern EV charger installs. If you've got a panel question or a complicated situation, he's the one who'll actually look at it — not a salesperson running a checklist.
Holly runs the office, handles scheduling, and — critically — answers the phone. When customers mention that "a real person picked up," they mean Holly. She keeps jobs on schedule, follows up after every project, and is the reason Groppi Electric runs as smoothly as it does. Call 440-212-0743. She'll pick up.
Tell us what's going on. We'll tell you what it actually needs — and what it doesn't.
