EV charger and hot tub electrical work across Northfield, Macedonia, Twinsburg, Hudson, and surrounding Northeast Ohio.

The Electrician for the Install You Can't Afford to Get Wrong

EV chargers, hot tub hook-ups, pool pump circuits — high-draw installs with real consequences when they're done sloppily. David checks your panel capacity first, scopes only what you actually need, pulls the permit, and coordinates around your delivery date. No upsells because you own a Tesla. No shortcuts because it's behind a panel cover.

"After purchasing a 2023 Tesla Model Y electric vehicle, we asked David Groppi Electric to install the Generation 3 Wall Charger in the garage at one address, and a 240V outlet in the garage at another location. David accommodated our requests in a very professional manner completing the project on time for the delivery of the vehicle. We thank David for being an A++ Contractor."

What we install and repair

Four big installs we handle well

Most Level 2 chargers run on a 240V, 50-amp dedicated circuit — the same voltage your dryer uses, just routed to your garage or driveway instead. We run the conduit, pull the breaker, mount the EVSE, and test it with your vehicle before we leave. Works with any make or model: Tesla, Ford, Rivian, Chevy, BMW, whatever you're driving. If your panel needs an upgrade to accommodate the new circuit, we'll tell you before we start — not after.

If your charger isn't delivering a full charge overnight, trips its GFCI repeatedly, or won't communicate with your car's onboard system, the problem is usually in the circuit — not the vehicle. We trace faults from the panel to the receptacle, replace damaged outlets or wiring, and verify output voltage before closing out. Same-week service available most of the time; call to check availability.

Hot tubs require a dedicated 240V, 50-amp GFCI-protected circuit — and by NEC code, a disconnect box within line of sight of the tub. We handle the trench (if needed), the conduit run, the GFCI breaker, the disconnect, and the equipotential bonding wire that ties all the metal components to the ground system. That bonding step is required and sometimes skipped by less careful contractors. We've done enough of these to know exactly what inspectors look for.

Pool and spa wiring has stricter code requirements than almost anything else in a home. Underwater lighting circuits need GFCI protection. Pump motors need their own dedicated circuit. Metal components — ladders, handrails, equipment enclosures — need equipotential bonding to prevent stray voltage near water. We know the NEC pool wiring rules cold, and we pull permits when the job requires it. If your pool was wired years ago and you're not sure it meets current code, we can check.

The best electrician I have ever dealt with! So nice, professional, great expertise, very reasonably priced, easy to work with, outstanding work quality, they go above and beyond. I highly recommend Groppi Electric! Stop looking and call them.
